About Us
Mauro and Connie had been pastoring their church in Toronto for over 12 years when they sensed a call to relocate to Italy.
Mauro had been on short-term missions trips to Italy for years and saw a great need in the people that he was ministering to.
In July of 1994 they resigned from their church and founded Good News Ministries, a non-profit missionary organization affiliated with C.F.C.M. (Canadian Fellowship of Churches and Ministers).
In September of the same year, along with Connie and their four year old daughter Laura, they moved to Italy where, in July of 1995, their second daughter Deborah was born. Sarah, the Girgenti’s third daughter was born in Italy in 2001.
God had been preparing Mauro for this task his whole life, both spiritually and in the natural. When he was fourteen years old, he moved to Canada from Italy and was saved when he was seventeen. The Lord taught him and prepared him, and then He called him to go back to Italy and bring the Word to his native nation.
Rev. Girgenti has studied both in Canada and Italy, and therefore understands Italian customs and is fluent in the Italian language.
